“Nevertheless, each of you should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to you, just as God has called you. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches.” - http://bible.us/1Cor7.17.TNIV
This verse is becoming more and more important to me.
“Have you ever noticed that some songs are easier to sing than to live?” - Ken Cooper
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Oddly, I was thinking this very thing before Mr. Cooper uttered these words.
As the congregation was singing The Stand by Hillsong, I was struggling with the fact that I have hardened my heart these last two weeks.
“I’ll stand. My soul to You, surrendered. All I am is Yours.”
Yeah, I can’t sing that. I’m way to far away from it. I’ve allowed sadness of rejection to push me away from God. Shoot, I haven’t even wanted to be close to God, frankly.
Now, don’t worry, I haven’t rejected my faith. I still believe in The Creator. But I haven’t been wanting to be close to Him.
It’s in these times of introspection that one learns how much it sucks to not be in the fellowship of God. He created us to be in fellowship with Him.
This week, I will try so hard to surrender. I will try so hard to give all I am to Him.
