The opposite of theism is not atheism, it’s idolatry. In other words, everyone is going to worship a god. We were created to be worshipers, as birds were created to fly and rivers were created to flow. It’s what we do. The question is for you who or what will be the object of your worship.
Whining, in many ways, is the opposite of worshipping the Lord. Worship is when we glorify God for who He is and acknowledge what He has done for us, but whining is ignoring who God is and forgetting what He has done for us.
You stay the same through the ages
Your love never changes
There maybe pain in the night but joy comes in the morningAnd when the oceans rage
I don’t have to be afraid
Because I know that You love me.
Heard this song at youth group tonight. Holy cow! Old school! Reminded me of my youth kids at FBBC and Grace in Overbrook! Miss you all! Throw up your Rawkfist and keep loving the Lord!

Torn: Rescuing the Gospel from the Gays-vs.-Christians Debate by Justin Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Profound. Whether you agree with his hermeneutic or not, this book should cause the Church to seriously think about how it is ministering to a group of people in need of God’s grace.
I believe without a doubt that the Gay Community of our society is one of the most important groups of people the Church could minister to. This group is this generation’s “least of these.”
The Church can longer afford to ignore, shun, judge, or disregard the gay community. Every day the Church battles against this group of people, it effectively destroys its own effectiveness, character, and, most importantly, the Gospel that it most desperately attempts to share.
To my gay friends, especially my gay friends who claim faith in Jesus Christ: this book with encourage you and bless you! I pray that you will continue to know that your orientation does not separate you from God’s grace, kingdom, will, or purpose!

Rather than loving the sinner and hating the sin, we can love everyone and hate our own sin.
My Redeemer
I was reminded of this passage from a former youth group student. Of course she’s all grown up and wise beyond her years now! Thanks for your faith Sarah! You inspired me today!
Job 19:23-27 NIV
“Oh, that my words were recorded, that they were written on a scroll, that they were inscribed with an iron tool on lead, or engraved in rock forever! I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
He Is Risen
I serve a God who is alive and present. I serve a God who has conquered sin and death. I serve a God who promised reconciliation, adoption, and an eternal sealing of Lordship.
Listening to Sing To Jesus by Fernando Ortega is very appropriate! He is Risen! Celebrate!
Come and see, look on this mystery
The Lord of the Universe, nailed to a tree
Christ our God, spilling His Holy blood
Bowing in anguish, His sacred head
Sing to Jesus, Lord of our shame
Lord of our sinful hearts.
He is our great Redeemer.
Sing to Jesus, Honor His name.
Sing of His faithfulness, pouring His life out unto death
Come you weary and He will give you rest
Come you who mourn, lay on His breast
Christ who died, risen in Paradise
Giver of mercy, Giver of Life
Sing to Jesus His is the throne
Now and forever,
He is the King of Heaven.
Sing to Jesus, we are His own.
Now and forever sing for the love our God has shown.
Sing to Jesus, Lord of our shame
Lord of our sinful hearts.
He is our great Redeemer.
Sing to Jesus, Honor His name.
Sing to Jesus His is the throne
Now and forever,
He is the King of Heaven.
Sing to Jesus, we are His own.
Now and forever sing for the love our God has shown.
Jesus Knew
Jesus knew what was going to happen on Friday. Jesus knew that the Passover Feat was to be His last meal. Jesus knew He was going to be betrayed. Jesus knew the flesh would be ripped off of His back. Jesus knew His blood would be spilt. Jesus knew He would die.
Why didn’t He leave? Why didn’t He run to fight another day?
“You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” - Romans 5:6-11 NIV
That’s why. You are worthy to be called God’s friend. You are worthy to be saved. You are worthy to have new life. Praise God that Jesus followed through even when it didn’t make much sense!
